    Sarah McKinley

I don't know if you all heard the story yet, but on New Year's Eve, a couple of home intruders tried to break into the home of a Sarah McKinley from Oklahoma. She had lost her husband only a few days before and was left tending to her baby. According to the articles and news stories, she called 911, was put on hold for 21 minutes, but remained calm. She asked the operator if she could shoot the intruders.

"“I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby."

And she did, killing one of them while the other was arrested later. What a woman to be that calm in the face of danger!

The reason the operator couldn't tell her to go ahead and do it was because if someone doesn't have a weapon on you, you can be in trouble for shooting them. Even if they trespass on your property!
